I was born on a US air force base in Seville, Spain in 1964. My parents returned to the states shortly thereafter and divorced when I was 6. My mother returned to Arkansas where I spent my formative years. I was very influenced by my mother's interest in sewing and drawing. She is very meticulous and I learned a lot from her about Southern craftsmanship and being resourceful when it comes to finding materials to work with.
